This group really ticks me.:rant:

The controversial Westboro Baptist Church is planning to protest President Obama's visit to Joplin, Missouri Sunday.

On its website, the church writes, "Thank God for 125 dead in Joplin." Church members claim Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has attacked them by promoting laws banning them from protesting at soldiers' funerals.
President Obama is planning to visit the tornado-ravaged city this Sunday. A memorial is also planned that day for the 125 people who lost their lives in the tornado.
Nixon said Wednesday that the community "must come together and seek a higher power's assistance." He said it was appropriate the community gather as one on Memorial Day weekend to remember those who have died in the tornado

Talk about an embarrassment to Christianity! Fred Phelps' message is not from God. He's about the only public figure I despise more than Obummer.

I agree with you there. Phelps is a false teacher.

Jesus Christ never talked like that. Jesus said that all men, including Phelps and his followers, are sinners and told us to repent and follow Him and tell others about Him.

Obama can't figure out if he's a Christian (radicalized by 20 years of Jeremiah Wright's hate speech) or Muslim, he has no doubt at all about being a Socialist though.

Other than telling folks he is Christian, would there be an issue if he was Muslim and had told folks that from the get go, not that he needs to since last I thought, religion was not a requirement for being POTUS
  5. DJgang

DJgang I put SAs on IGNORE!

WBC sucks, they should be ignored or avoided like the plague. I equate them to Peter flies, those little knats that fly around dogs...lol...

I wish our country would stop giving them any media coverage, ignore them, do not counter protest because some people start looking as stupid as them.

these bastards got blown up in the 90's in their church and THEY THANKED the people they did it. Most of these people are indeed inbred as most are cousins as they don't like insiders. I have seen a couple of documentaries on these freaks. All they want is attention.

religion was not a requirement for being POTUS ... True but I would like the truth not a dance ...

I have watched many a youtube for both sides ...

Just the truth ... is that so much to ask? ...

I agree, the truth is what is needed, but the most outspoken about this seem to think one must be a Christian to be eligible.

I believe the truth should be spoken by everyone..... christian or non. I guess I can't use the word cult for this group .... is there another word? Besides shame on them.... or blasphemers who use the name of God for their own agenda? All I know is a person or persons who claim to be christians and behave contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ are not christians. History is full of these people who claim they are followers of Christ and do horrific deeds.

At present, one must (claim to!) be a Christian to be electable. That will probably change over time. However the problem for now is that politicians give it lip service. It's just on more thing they say that they don't mean in order to get elected. :gaah:

Talk about a twisted mentality. There is surely a warm spot reserved for him in the afterlife.
  13. Immolatus

    Immolatus Just getting started. Always.

I would think you could say this about half of all religious followers.

    Turn the other cheek.
    Thou shalt not kill.
Arent we bombing 3 countries right now? And this is a 'Christian' nation? No wonder the rest of the world laughs at our hypocrisy.
We bomb people to set them free. (War is Peace)
Dont question, this is the truth because we tell you it is. This applies to religion, education, politics, science, everything.

As for the Westboro guys, this is the worst kind of scum, but I happily defend their right to say and express whatever they want, no matter how vehemently I may disagree with them.

If the media would just back off they wouldn't get the exposure they so desperately seek. Let them fade away into background noise.

i actually thought it was hilarious when Anonymous started hacking the accounts of WBC....as i recall it wasnt just anonymous.

Apparently WBC, has had a lot of problems. Protesters, several hacks. They had planned to go protest the funeral, of a fallen soldier, and backed off of going. Their membership has declined drastically. They don't exactly get a warm welcome in Missouri.

There's some talk they're going to come down to West. I hope they realize that the only thing worse than an enraged Bohump is an enraged Scot.

As an outsider I don't know if Americans realize just how bad they make America look, certainly American christians.

They should be classed the same as the KKK, a hate group.
How soon before they become radicalized to the point of committing acts of terror in the name of their religious extremism?
