Magus - I didn't see a lighter or other fire starter in your kit...

For all that have posted, why no sleeping gear? Everything else is prepped for several days but I see no sleeping gear nor rain cover/poncho/tent.

Y'all are down south so I'm surprised I don't see some sort of bug spray in your kits. I carry bug spray/DEET in the summer then pull that out and add hat and gloves for the colder seasons.

I smoke,the lighter's in my pocket.

I forgot the crappy truck stop poncho?

Bugs generally leave me alone, the thought never crossed my mind to plunk in some DEET.makes a good fire starter though.

My sub zero Sleeping bag won't fit in my fanny pack.LOL:D

We get used to them. Also enough alchohol in your bloodstream and they will leave you alone, or you just won't notice them.:D
