As a mom of five over the years I have learned quite a bit.
In the last few years in preparing bulk foods for my family I know they like i came up with a 4 whole grain mix and figured out how to dehydrate a balance of fruits and veggies to mix into anything.
Anyway, my question is this.
I have made a cookbook of sorts using my own mixes and show how to more effectively use the dehydrator,(i have three of them :D ) for my family and friends and I have been encouraged by them all to make this available to others at an affordable price.
Is this something you all would consider wanting?

just looking for input but i could easily have it ready for anyone who is interested. I am thinking in the $5.00 range.
thoughts?

I think a cookbook is a great idea. You may want to look at putting it together in ebook form, you may have one so already! but anyways, I like to sell stuff on Ebay and I think that would be a great place to test it out as well...

If you have it in ebook format, you won't have to mess with printing fees and mailing costs.

Good luck!:)

We also do a lot of dehydrating and along with other staples (pasta, potatoes, rice, beans, etc.) we are and have been eating our survival foods on a daily basis for about three years.
We do soups and stews with whatever fish or meats that are available to embellish the meal. We do early morning drives on certain roads to acquire whatever road kill that might be available for free.
The biggest problem for us is to enhance the flavor of the various meals utilizing spices and we could use help on that. We try not to use fatty cuts from domestic stock.
I am interested in what you might have to improve our situation and hope that you have it in either a .pdf format or in something that I could open with MS Word or Open Office.
I will be glad to PayPal you five bucks and have you send me a file to see what you have and give you an appraisal as to your content. [email protected]
Regards,

Hi everyone,
sorry took me so long to get back here. puter issues. grrr
anyway, i am still tweaking my cookbook. i have so many recipes that i have created over the years.
however i do have a short ebook that talks about dehydrating and some cool factoids that i have been giving away in order to tweak exactly what people would like to see in a good all purpose cookbook.
as for seasoning...that is easy for me. i generally cook without salt but when i do use salt it is coarse sea salt.
part of my new cookbook deals with this problem of seasoning. I have learned about many herbs and combinations that by nature have natural sodium to them. but the key is putting certain herbs together that make a really good all purpose seasoning.
i find many people want to make particular seasonings for certain foods but as a mom, i need a all purpose seasoning that works from anything to salads, soups etc.
I started a company called NutritionMom. my website is versameal.com
I wrote a short book on battling finicky eating in children and taught some classes locally here on how to battle this problem in a innovative way.
anyway, i uploaded to lulu as a free download.
here is the link:
Don't Just 'Sneak' It In! 'Teach' It In! by Laura Halfpenny in Diet & Health
I would love your input. my main cookbook is close to being finished.
blessings
