No preparedness in this thread. My daughter took first place in the state swim championship, in the 50yd freestyle event. :congrat: Just wanted to gloat. Her reaction when she realized she won: http://photos.pennlive.com/patriot-news/2010/03/piaa_class_aaa_girls_swimming_10.html This is her coming off the block in a different event: PIAA class AAA Girls Swimming Championships | PennLive.com
Congratulations!!! If I read the results correctly (from this site http://www.piaa.org/assets/web/documents/2010_AAA_Girls_Wed_Finals.htm), she did it in 23.51 seconds?!??! That's screaming fast.
Thanks everyone. bczoom Yes 23.51; that's her fastest time. I'm guessing the picture was taken when she looked at the board and realized she touched first. The girl that came in 2nd had a 23.55. It was so close that you couldn't tell who won until it was on the board. She says she's going to London in 2012 for the summer olympics. We'll see. The higher up the ladder you go, the stiffer the competition gets. The world record is 21.27. The olympic record is 24.06
GOOD JOB!!!!! Congrats!!!! As for me...I'd be happy to be able to swim 50 yards!!.. at any speed!! Hope she makes the "O's"
And congrats to you. Cumberland Valley's BStickler, performs a dive, at the PIAA class AAA Swimming and Diving Championships at Bucknell University Wednesday March 17, 2010.
