Even here in Canada we can see the "wrongness" of putting a mosque a few blocks away from where the twin-towers once stood.

Well CHIT MMM, with statements like that , it's as obvious as yer nose that yer one of them fun-duh-mentalist born again right wing ner do wells... HELL, I bet you even has some of them nasty black rifles all your type seem to need...fer shootin the dogs in da hood...

I think they should build it..nice target ...:D

Funny how Religion and the Constitution is a sore subject with liberals until they need to use them to make doing the wrong thing look ok...

    I'm disgusted....

PRESIDENT Obama didn't comment on the 'Wisdom' of trying to place a Mosque 3 blocks from WTC grounds...

He simply said it was protected under the Constitution.
Anything else you heard is right wing paid pundit lies.

If you want to blame PRESIDENT Obama,
That's OK with me, just lets me know what kind of person I'm dealing with...

What you don't realize is, there are a TON more MODERATES with 'Black Rifles' than the loud 'Tea Party' types.
We have those rifles BECAUSE the 'Far Right' thinks anyone that will work with their neighbors, follow the law, honor the Constitution should be killed off...

I consider that a HATE CRIME and a threat against a particular religious sect.

So, shooting at churches is your idea of being a 'Citizen'?

That is a VERY good argument against giving everyone born here citizenship...
Citizenship should be EARNED, not an 'Entitlement' because of the geographic location of your mother when you were born...
But that's another protected 'RIGHT' you enjoy also, and the right wingers want to revoke.

Good thing the quiet MAJORITY of the country is so well armed...

Like I said, it's the 'Extremists' we have to worry about, the ones that blow up government buildings with social security offices and day care centers in them,
The guys that try and blow up WTC and fly planes into the WTC are the dangerous ones...

You know, the guys that think a religious building is a 'Target' and that 'Moderates' are the 'Targets' and 'Enemy'...
Anyone that wants to compromise instead of turning every discrepancy into a gunfight or war...

Those are the ones we have to watch out for, unbalanced and armed is NEVER a good combination...

Again, no one said it was a 'Good Idea',
Personally, I think dedicating any building or resources to an invisible man in the sky with a long gray beard is a good idea....

We have only said it's CONSTITUTIONALLY ALLOWED.

Just like your CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to blow off about shooting at Churches/Synagogue/Mosques/Temples...
OR blow off about what's 'RIGHT' or not...

Personally, I think it's a huge waste of time, money, manpower and general resources,
But it shows the Islamic community is TRYING...

More than I can say for the closed minded people that are beating the drum about it!

Jeep Hammer, ya don't know me, ya never met me, so don't try ta catagorize me please.

I served my country fer nearly 8 years, wen't places the devil wouldn't tread. Was an still am proud of it.

My son serves this country now. We have had someone in each generation of this family serve clear back through the revolution.

I beleive we have earned the rite to have ill feelins towards the building of a mosque near ground zero. That rite has been earned with blood.

You have the right to your feelins as we all do. But I have the right not to have others feelins shoved down my throat.

This post was about the President of this country givin his blessing no matter how stated to building this mosque not about the right to build it. It simply would be good manners an right not to build there. That was the point of this post. I can't state it any simpler then that.

We've seen enough insulting an name calling, so lets get back to what we should be doin, gettin ready fer the expected an the unexpected. Thank you.

JH get this ok, read it with both eyes open ok?

Now I do disagree with what he said, but he has the right to say it and me and mine have fought and died for over two hundred years to make it so, but I don't have to agree with him.

I think it's the wrong thing to do and if you were watching the news ttoday there was a church near the towers that was destroyed , the were refused the right to rebuild their church on land they own!!! where's the love? where's their rights?

OH !! I see .. ! they are a Christian church, hell that makes all the difference in the world.

As for the rest of my post it was tongue in cheek as it were but I can see it ruffled your feelers and for that I say.... tough ****! I'm not sorry about it at all...

And now having learned a thing from GS aka Mrs MMM I will no longer read your posts nor answer them ...

To the rest of yawl... sorry I gave this ...person .the chance to spout off...I'll stop

C'mon, Hozay! I haven't laughed so hard since I read the last joke in the daily joke section. Ya' got me pegged to a "T." I am one of them "fun-duh-mentalist born again right wing ner do wells... " ... And I'm enjoyin' ever' minute of it!

I'm also a straight white male! That ought to put a knot in someone's skivvies too!

Not only that, I'm a natural born citizen. Didn't have to sneak across any rivers or fill out any forms either! Got the papers to prove it too. (Unlike some people.)

I kinda' like those black rifles too! (Might even own one or two or ...)

JH - You said: "PRESIDENT Obama didn't comment on the 'Wisdom' of trying to place a Mosque 3 blocks from WTC grounds...

Anything else you heard is right wing paid pundit lies.

If you want to blame PRESIDENT Obama,
That's OK with me, just lets me know what kind of person I'm dealing with..."

    The news reported the following:

"...The president injected another issue to the mix when he said last Friday that Muslims "have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country" and that included building the Islamic center in lower Manhattan.

A day later, Obama told reporters that wasn't an endorsement of the specifics of the mosque plan.""

GOP calls Obama insensitive over stand on mosque - Yahoo! News

Now he's ducking and dodging like a punch drunk fighter trying to let the issue die down. As a "right winger" I'm loving how the democraps are trying to straddle the fence on the issue. Most are saying it is an issue for New York to handle. That's a much wiser answer than El Presidente Owe-bama came up with!

I guess you're dealing with someone who sees El Presidente Owe-bama as someone who is totally out of touch with mainstream America. Has he ever held a real job?

Wonder why none of you threw a fit about the Mosque that is 4 blocks away, and was there before the WTC was built in the '70s?

Wonder why none of you threw a fit when the same religious right group that supported Mcvey built 3 blocks from OKC bombing site?
Maybe because it was a 'Christian' group doing it?

I wonder why none of you mentioned the Imam of the proposed Mosque was dispatched as an emissary to the middle east by GWB?
When the same Imam was working for GWB, everything was fine,
Now that he's trying to build a moderate and integrated Mosque, community center, ect. it's a big deal since it's a democratic administration!

    Let me repeat that,
GWB empowered the Imam to represent the US in diplomatic matters in the middle east,
Was granted the same rights, privileges and standing as an ambassador representing the USA,

So why the issue now other than right wing using it as PR against President Obama?
Mostly to take the focus of the things that President Obama has done for the country that needed done...
And it's working on the simple minded, they aren't able to see through the smoke screen...

This is all fabricated, just like Shirley Sherrod issue was,
Right wingers think that lying, cheating, stealing is OK, and it's fine to use any means to achieve their ultimate goal, FLEECING THE US TAX PAYER/WORK FORCE.

Never let a little thing like the truth, fair play, common courtesy get in the way of making BILLIONS from the US taxpayers and workforce!

Gerrymandering, stealing elections, disinformation, smear campaigns, all marks of the Far Right Wing.

If you are silly enough to believe there were WMDs in Iraq after the UN inspectors had said there was ZERO evidence there was ANY TYPE of WMD production or stored stocks in the country for 10 years,
And most of the 'Inspectors' were US CIA officers,
Then you are as stupid as GWB was to believe Haliburton and start the war in Iraq...

Haliburton wanted the war for the $790 BILLION a year in contracts,
Which our vice president (Dick Cheny) awarded without bids (no bid contracts, to no one's surprise) to HALIBURTON!
The company he ran before becoming vice president, and now works for again that he's not vice president...
(Personally, I believe he was working for Haliburton while vice president, he sure made their bottom line pump up while holding office!)

Haliburton also builds oil fiends, trades in oil contracts, and by getting that war started, took over the Iraq oil fields exclusively.
Nice side income, but nothing compared to the $790 BILLION dollars a year the US Taxpayer his pumped into their company accounts for the last 8 years!
Which, by the way, a good deal of which they CAN NOT account for!
They are stealing so fast they can't even keep track of it!

Since there was no official declaration of war, it was an ILLEGAL war, and still is.

Wars start at your pleasure, and even though the village idiot (GWB) announced 'Mission Accomplished', we are still stuck in that war 8 years later with no real end in sight.

We don't get to pick when this war is going to stop.
I said back in '90 when I DEPLOYED to 'Desert Shield' this was a mistake,
Once in the middle east, we were going to be there at least 30 years...
It's been 20 years and there is no end in sight.

Go right ahead and try to throw up anything you like, but the facts are the facts, and I was in the military from '78 to '94 in places you wouldn't believe the US military was operating...
    I saw it first hand.

Then you are pretty much the bottom 10% that runs around spewing anything 'lush dimbulb' pumps out and are incapable of making any rational decisions on your own based on actual facts...

The problem with that lower 10% is they vote and they have internet access.

Go ahead and attack on gut reaction, most wars are started by reactionary presidents, reactionary leaders are responsible for the Crusades, Holocaust, both world wars, genocide, ect.

I would rather have a president that thinks things through, follows the rule of law, doesn't break the laws & upholds the Constitution,
Not one that jams through a 'Patriot Act' that removes virtually ALL civil liberties... Starts illegal wars in places we can't afford to occupy, trying to control an ethnic group the administration doesn't understand in the least...

"So why the issue now other than right wing using it as PR against President Obama? Mostly to take the focus of the things that President Obama has done for the country that needed done..."

I think it's the things His Excellency Owe-bama has done that is causing the problems. Again, he is soooo out of touch with normal Americans that he can't fathom what they find so repulsive about him and his lackeys. If he'd had a functioning brain he would have never entered into the fray to begin with.

You need to take the blinders off bud! Owe-bama doesn't have a clue!

    That's pretty funny,
I've been reading the polls, and the lower the education level, the more people rail against the current administration, and support the previous one that ruined the economy and started an illegal war.

90% of the people that didn't complete high school are opposed to the current administration,
While people with 4 years of collage or more run about 20% against the current administration.

Wonder what that would look like if the pole broke down the demographic by IQ?
Not that IQ is an indicator of success or abilities, but higher IQ folks tend to be 'Quirky', comes with the territory...

Anyway, anything is better than GWB and Haliburton running the country,
And since my retirement accounts have mostly recovered from what GWB did to them,
I'm pretty well supporting President Obama until something better comes along.

Too bad all you loud types let GWB bash John McCain over his actual military career, calling him 'Unstable' because he was a POW.

Or bash John Kerry because he earned 3 purple hearts and a bronze star,

This from a Republican candidate that shouldn't have been a pilot since he didn't have the required collage degrees, but got in flight school anyway,

When GWB wouldn't take the flight physical when his unit was activated to ship out to Viet-Nam, (Coward)

And when his CO recommended he be tried at court martial, 'Daddy' (Director of the CIA at the time) got his CO replaced and got his kid a discharge to go to collage.

Since it takes a Math, Science, Engineering degree to qualify for flight school,
His 'D' average in 'Business' wouldn't have let him be a pilot if the rules applied to him.

The Bush family donated over 4 million dollars while GWB was in collage, and the kid was so coked out/drunk a 'D' average was all 4 million dollars would buy for him!

Hiring the Imam of the now rebuilding Mosque was a good idea or not, I can't tell you...
Since GWB was such a moron, it might not have been,
But since that same Imam is advocating PRO USA and MODERATE ISLAM, it might be a good idea if someone actually knew what they were talking about before they open their mouths or sit down at the keyboard...

Has anyone stopped to think that 4 members of the Mosque wanting to rebuild died in WTC on 9/11 or did all of you conveniently overlook that part?
Those would be native born, Islamic Americans working in the buildings...

Have you overlooked the fact that the Mosque members were also first responders?
There are Muslims on the fire department that responded to, and died in the collapse?

I guess being blinded by hate and thinking your are superior to anyone else is keeping those facts from being considered!
Pretty enlightening what CNN had on the Anderson Cooper show last night...
And BBC broke it down pretty well also...
Maybe you should switch from FOX and 'Lush Dimbulb' once in a while to actually get some FACTS and some different sides of the story before you raise a stink!

Nothing like the 'Far Right' to support a Coked out drunken frat boy for president,
A Drug addicted/Drunk that's been through 4 wives, paid pundit for the right, that drones on endlessly about the 'Sanctity Of Marriage' when gays want to get hitched, but can't keep his vows to god or wife on three of the 4 times he took them...
Just keep soaking up Lush Dimbulb, maybe he'll cut you in on his dope supply!
(not that he actually SHARES anything with anyone else, just rattles on about what ever you PAY him to say...)

    Past acts predict future actions.
Drunk Doper that can't keep a wife.
Gets paid to represent the interested of anyone with enough money.
    Lush Dimbulb.

Coked out Drunk that crashes cars, cripples people, can't graduate collage without massive donations to keep him from going to Viet-Nam,
Deserter to his oath to the military,
Starts Illegal wars on bad information when all reliable accounts were to the contrary (But that was a money grab for Haliburton, for which he 'Consults' and draws a $10 a year paycheck now)

Can't eat Chips without choking, can't walk on flat ground, can't speak English, can't ride a bicycle, can't operate a chain saw, bankrupted or fired from every job he had except for the presidency,
    And you folks RE-ELECTED HIM!
    Lets hear it for GWB!

And you guys think President Obama is worse that those guys...?

are we so thin skinned that when someone challenges us we must immediately jump on him? he has a right to say what he wants on this board and back it up as much as anyone else. he isn't cursing anyone out or writing in all capital bold text, just stating that this is a diversionary tactic

stir up deep seated racial hatred (sorry america you haven't progressed that far) and call it "socialistic closet-muslimitry" .... that's not a word but you get the point eh?

obama isn't a closet muslim simply because he doesn't bash them or infringe on their constitutional rights.

I thought it wasn't a "mosque" but a culture center? well we can't allow them to peaceably assemble (haha what were they thinking? same rights as WASPs? noh!)

and of course freedom of religion means only for the religion that came over on the mayflower. can't let THIS religion of hatred and murder infect OUR culturally historical Burlington Coat Factory buildings

yes this is a homesteading board, but come on, we also like to debate and bounce ideas off each other. just human nature to branch out from a core idea, that being preparedness. some see obama as being a reason to prepare, some see global warming as a reason to prepare, some see zombies...etc...these ideas carry over into other conversations, so naturally a board titled "off the path" would allow for a little more discretionary freedom. I don't see JeepHammer going "right wing" bashing in any other threads, yet there's certainly enough left-hate to handle one poster on this thread.

everyone take a breather, we're all friends here, we just think differently, no need to take anything personally (seriously it's the internet...not serious business)

Total bunkum of course. How many of the throngs of loyal Obamadroids in 'the projects' even graduated High School, much less have ever been within spitting distance of a University?
On the other hand, I personally know many college grads and highly successful people who oppose and despise The Kenyan.
Same can be said about IQs........
My experience has shown that those who most champion The Liberal Left simply cannot think for themselves.......
Some on The Extreme Right are similar, of course. The Leftwingers have no monopoly on stupidity....... ;)

Kogneto: Have you read every post in this entire thread? Because, if you have you weren't paying attention.

Bigdog57: While "The Leftwingers have no monopoly on stupidity......." they certainly have the majority on it.

The biggest problem with debating a liberal is that they can't seem to focus thier thoughts. (Which is probably why they're liberals.) They wander from topic to topic and usually don't even address the main issue. They can't really defend thier position so they're content to revile the opposition with personal attacks rather than fact and logic.

kogneto, Jeephammer has gone beyond stating opposing opinions...he's been downright nasty and made direct statements that the people of this forum are "uninformed", among other things.

His opinions are welcome, his beliefs and whoever he supports, are welcome. His attitude and name-calling aren't.

The sad thing is...he is SO SMART! He's done a lot of the things we all want to learn and wish we could do. Yet he has to be so nasty. At first I thought he was just burned out by stupid people, but now I think it's bigger.

Maybe he gets a rush out of stirring people up and waiting to see what they post?

Instead of berating us, I wish he could just state what he has to say. Not everyone agrees with YOU, kogneto, but you're at least fair in a debate, and you don't tell the rest of us how stupid we are. I enjoy reading what you post.

I enjoy reading the things JeepHammer posts when he's just sharing information and thoughts. Not everyone is here to make friends, but he could at least differ in his opinions without the judgements. I don't think less of HIM for the beliefs HE has.
