Mylar bags

    Will any dried food last for years in the mylar bags?

    Yes and no, depends on what you dehydrate. Some lasts longer than others. Freezedried will usually out last dehydrated.
    Also how you pack it.

    Mylar is probably the best currently available material to use. Being aluminum based, it is a much denser material than plastic and has much lower gas and water permeability rating. Plus the reflective surface will reduce the amount of light damage the package could potentially come into contact with.

    So, yes, it could keep your food longer.
