Welcome to the forum.
My town is also offering the same CERT class. The wife and I signed up for it last week. Our first (of 9) class is next week. It sounds like partial beginner emergency responder training along with some prepping info too.
I'm going to be listening carefully to the others in the class to see if some other closet preppers might be in attendance. If there are, they, like me, might be the quiet ones that don't discuss what they have.
