Rain on the 1st. Nice on the 2nd although its a little cool for this time of year.
Setting up my raised boxes for my garden. The rain stopped my progress. Wanted to have my root vegies in by now.

Actually today I'm going to plant carrot, lettuce, spinach, and cabbage seed in the garden. Its dry enough right now and it looks like we will be getting rain this weekend. First part of week planted Kentuck pole beans, pickling cucs and red potatoes. The Kennebec potato bed had more that enough seeds for this year.
I tried something different this year on the Kennebec bed, used the rototiller very slow and deep, seems to have cut some seeds but on the whole might just help in distributing them. Also worked the insulation straw cover into the soil.
The seed starts are doing great indoors, tomatoes, melons, squash, peppers and some flowers for the mrs.

We still have probably 4-6" of snow in most spots but there is the occasional bare spot starting to poke through. It's been warm(relatively) and sunny for this whole month so far. Low 40's yesterday and today. Too muddy to get my little pickup into the wood pile so yesterday we split wood onto a hay wagon and let it sit until around 7 this morning. We unloaded while the ground was still frozen. Worked out really well so I split another big load by myself today and it's currently sitting on the driveway waiting for tomorrow(Sunday) morning to do it again. One nice thing about the warm weather: the amount of wood our furnace is using is way down.

Still too darn muddy to do anything, though.
