I am sure this is old news for most on here but I didn't see it posted and I think it is interesting in terms of seeing where Canadians are at these days in the real world. Without the media spin, or the anonymity of the internet how much do people really tolerate muslims today, particularly in light of the recent attacks.

More close to home for me, we had the case of a mosque being vandalized in Cold lake (a very important military community), however the response seems more significant than the damage;

Here's what happened next. As soon as word got out, townspeople showed up with scrub brushes, paint remover and flowers. They made new signs with Canadian flags saying "You are home." Local contractors showed up, along with soldiers in uniform from the nearby military base. Ajaz Quraishi, president of the Islamic Society of Cold Lake, said he didn't think the incident had anything to do with hostility in the community. "Maybe kids did it, I don't know who did it, but it could happen to anybody," he told the Edmonton Journal. "… One guy came up and said, 'You know, I'm a *******, but I don't like this.' He came and hugged me."

As for the muslim community, they have said that they need to take more responsibility to prevent these "radicalizations" and I think every one has denounced the attacks at the very least.
Prominent Muslim cleric Imam Syed Soharwardy of Calgary on Thursday urged mosque leaders across the country to be wary of converts who show signs of radicalization.

"They should take on the responsibility of checking backgrounds and staying in touch and make sure this person is not being recruited by any radical organization or terrorist organizations," Soharwardy said on Thursday.

"I'm not saying don't convert them, but we have to be aware of those activities and work with police intelligence to make sure that a criminal person who just converted to Islam does not commit a major crime."

Muslims are so bad that even Buddhist monks are willing to kill them. When ever they get in large enough numbers the mask of Taqiyya(rules for lying to non muslims) comes off.

Myanmar Policy's Message to Muslims: Get Out

The Myanmar government has given the estimated one million Rohingya people in this coastal region of the country a dispiriting choice: Prove your family has lived here for more than 60 years and qualify for second-class citizenship, or be placed in camps and face deportation.

The policy, accompanied by a wave of decrees and legislation, has made life for the Rohingya, a long-persecuted Muslim minority, ever more desperate, spurring the biggest flow of Rohingya refugees since a major exodus two years ago. In the last three weeks alone, 14,500 Rohingya have sailed from the beaches of Rakhine State to Thailand, with the ultimate goal of reaching Malaysia, according to the Arakan Project, a group that monitors Rohingya refugees.

First of all, this thread was in the Canada section for a reason. It is good to know about the views of other countries obviously but one would have to be very careful if looking to them for guidance as your posts suggest. For example;

In the UK muslims & PC useful idiots that aid them are so bad that 1400 little white girls gang raped in Rotherham by muslims where ignored by cops/social workers didn't report the rapes but the Irish & IRA know what to do.

Northern Ireland, the poster child of Christian terrorism for decades? This is where you look for sound policy?

Muslims are so bad that even Buddhist monks are willing to kill them. When ever they get in large enough numbers the mask of Taqiyya(rules for lying to non muslims) comes off.

Wait... did you really just bring up Burma, one of the most corrupt nations in the world, and say they are correct? Do you know anything about these places and how utterly troubled they are or do you just see anti-muslim sentiment and say "YES! these are my people!"

Either way, both of those stories have nothing to do with average people in those countries (as troubled as they are) and certainly nothing to do with Canada. They are not places we want to emulate.

Cowboy- Just like the American Marxist Stream Media totally ignored the Black Muslim serial killer, Mohammad Ali Brown, who targeted Gays using the sex hookup app grindr this year you probably don't know the reality of muslim crimes. Did you ever hear of Matthew Shepard? Because if the serial killer was white the lame stream narrative would eclipse everything.

The IRA rushing out muslims is better than letting them commit al-hijra, where they follow Moo Ham Mads footsteps in raping non muslim girls as young as 6yo. Buddhist monks that normally wouldn't hurt a fly are willing to kill Muslims. Taqiyya is the rules that allow them to lie to non muslims. Diminitude means that they are superior to non muslims and must treat them differently. Jizya- the jihad seekers tax- muslims consider leeching off taxpayer benefits to be jizya. The "moderate" muslim wants the radical muslim to behead you. Ask any "good" muslim if they want sharia law in Canada and they will say yes meaning gays stoned to death and little girls genitals mutilated.

Here is the Canadian news that lamestream didn't mention.

I would try to respond to the statements in your comment more thoroughly if I thought there was a point.

Truth is, you and I both know that facts and logic that conflict with your opinion on this matter will just be ignored.

Let's just look the point made on sharia law. There are multiple fallacies at work here, just thinking on it a minute I see; onus probandi (shifting the burden of proof), argumentum ad ignorantiam (argument from ignorance), appeal to emotion, appeal to consequences, No true Scotsman, moving the goal post.

So, to demonstrate, if I were to tell you that I had talked to a "good" muslim as you say and they told me they weren't in support of sharia law in Canada (which I have). Would you say, "oh sorry, my bad, I guess I was wrong"? I can answer that pretty easy, you would say "Obviously they were lying" or "They weren't a real muslim" or some such fallacious argument.

If I were to tell you there were entire muslim organizations in Canada that spoke out against sharia law when it was proposed you would also discount that fact.

I could go on and on but I think it should be obvious why it would be rather unproductive for us to argue on this point, unless you wanted to use rational means to prove wrong what I have said, either about your post or something else.

Did you ever hear of Matthew Shepard?
Off topic, but since you brought this up, I want to clarify this.

A number of years ago, I needed fingerprints for a Wyoming teacher's license. I needed to be finger-printed. The officer who did my finger-printing for me was the lead officer on Matthew Shepard's death. He has been interviewed on several national television shows.

While my prints were being taken, I asked him about the case and he told me that the case had nothing to do with what was portrayed in the media. The two men and Matthew Shepard knew each other prior to the night of the murder and had been to each other's apartments before.

Their real commonality? Methamphetamine! As happens in the drug crowd, there can be issues around "need" and payment for need. They had a conflict about something and the murder was the solution. Why oh why was the gay story started? I don't know, but gosh, it sure fits for a couple red-necks from Laramie, Wyoming to kill a gay man because he made a suggestion to them (not).

Do you ever wonder how much of what is portrayed in the news is real? I don't wonder. I just use my brain and realize that so much is either lies, or imbellished truth!

The commonality is that the socialist agenda is followed with mainstream media.
There was a shooting at a US college of 3 people this weekend that didn't make Maxist Stream Media because it was an Obama son, with a gun, in a gun free zone. If the shooter was white it would be bigger news than the liquor store robber shot by a white cop in Ferguson.

Here is Sweden needing ambulance workers to wear bullet proof vests when going to muslim areas.

Honestly,
I would be torn between wanting to believe they really were genuine...
or wondering if they were just practicing Taqiyya

In Islam, taqiyya تقية (alternative spellings taqiyeh, taqiya, taqiyah, tuqyah) is a form of religious dissimulation, or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution.

Without getting into Taqiyya and what it actually means to different muslim groups and individuals, I will just say it varies widely (to say the least) and does not mean what most people think it means.

Still, it is the same point, it shifts the burden of proof. When someone comes forth with an opinion we don't say "Prove to me that is REALLY your opinion." However, if we did then we would look to how that person has acted in the past. In this case we have individuals who have acted in support of their position, spoken in support of their position, and we have NO evidence to the contrary, and yet we still want them to prove themselves. This is not a logical process.

So what would happen if these individuals were to go under lie detectors and it turned out they actually were against ___, would most people say "Gee whiz, we sure were wrong about that, I guess muslims are a diverse group with a wide range of opinions and views."?

Good news Canada says "no mass" to Syrian muslims.
http://refugeeresettlementwatch.wor...-minorities-as-a-first-priority-over-muslims/

"Refugee advocacy organizations in Canada have been asking the government to take in 10,000 more Syrians over the next two years, and the UN says it is in dire need of assistance as the civil war intensifies.

This suggestion, to take only religious minorities (code for non-Muslims), sure does smoke out the UNHCR and its apparent goal to move as many Muslims to the West as they can"

Posted in wrong thread? This thread was about how average people in Canada treat muslims, not about immigration policy, nothing stopping you from starting a new thread though.

If Canada is like they USA, all are "supposed" to be innocent until proven guilty.

"Supposed" to be...

In this day and age, I wish things were more "black and white" when it comes to (potential) terrorists.
