The one show was a documentary, similar to Les Strouds way of survival in that he is alone with his cameras filming what he is doing. The only difference is that he does get some food flown in, and he is building a permanent shelter. I believe it was taped in the 70s or early 80s, but I saw it on public broadcast I believe just a couple years ago.was it Grizzly Addams? I thought Turkish meant non-fiction...
Sounds interesting, I'll have to get that one!found this, adding it to my blockbuster list:
Off the Grid: Life on the Mesa (2007)
Just saw part of that on PBS today, it was great, really hands on and clearly taught. There was a series on at one time... but damned if I could remember the name of the show or the name of the series... that showed a guy who built his own cabin in the Northern Territories from scratch with only a few tools. He did get a lot of help in the way of food tho if I remember right.
