With the long weekend upon us, yall lets not ferget them what won't be celebratin it with family an friends.

Your cell phone is in your pocket.
You're looking at all the pretty girls.
    He patrols the streets, searching
    for insurgents and terrorists.
He's told he will be held over an
    extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a
    date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there
    is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend,
    like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells
    his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his
new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

    You criticize your government, and
say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and
killed by their own people and
    remembers why he is fighting.

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and
    screams of the wounded.

You see only what the media wants
    you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying
    around him.

You are asked to do something by
    your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even
if it puts his life in danger.

You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given
to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

You crawl into your soft bed, with
    down pillows, and get comfortable.
He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.

REMEMBER our Troops, and do not
    forget them LATER
    Lest we forget -

Remember their sacrifices so we can be safer here at home an lets raise a glass ta the fine folks servin an those we've lost er that have passed on. Let us pray they have a seat at the table a hero's in heaven.

    God Bless,
    Rev. Coot

    Lest we forget - Never ... I remember ...

For loved ones, loved but lost ... In my heart they will stay.

For the one I never knew ... I will remember you.

Saying Thank You ... To any Vet I meet ... It is the least I can do!

For they stand a post ... somewhere and say I'm here for you!

    Thank You!!!

    - Lets not forget...

My husband was vietnam helicopter pilot, my first born grandson is now a shortimer in Afghanistan, 2 tours almost over....he has a baby boy waiting at home for him....10 months old.
I do not believe in the policies of our government but I always , always, believe in our military......They choose to stand for us regardless of politics, they choose to stand because they love this country.....and they believe in freedom and they are proud....and I am proud of them. God Bless America:congrat:

    freedom is not free

freedom is something that must be defended time and time again. Some fight to protect it. Others like myself, must defend it my our words and deeds. We need to stand for the men and women who give their al,l the most precious gift, their lives. I will defend what you may say or believe, even if I do not feel the same. But PLEASE stand with me and defend my rights too. For if we do not stand together than we will all surly fall.
