Hello Everyone! :)

Great to discover this forum. I've just purchased a large tract of land and will begin building my own log home from scratch next month, I hope to be finished by August!
If anyone ever needs advice or help on hand crafted log homes I am happy to help, I've worked along side the log home industry for 10 years, have experience in almost every type of construction and have experience hand-hewing and building with logs, so I'm happy to be of assistance where I may. I have a lot of knowladge on how to build yourself a beautiful log home with VERY little money using some old-school methods that anyone could learn and I'm happy to share it where needed.
I've also put a post up under Building/Construction in the homesteading section about what I'm proposing to do, which is unite others that wish to build their own log homes on my land in a sort of log home mini-community where we could share a barn/livestock area, gardens etc. :) Just a hope to help some like-minded people realize their "zero mortgage" dreams and not having to rely on wal-mart for all of our daily needs. :p
So I hope everyone has a great evening, and I look forward to learning more myself by reading all of your posts as well.
Take care everyone!! :D

Welcome to the site. I am curious about the "intentional" community concept you mentioned.
Intentional community

I borrowed those words from another poster...but yes I am interested in having others "commune" with me on my property.
Basically I want to share my land with like-minded people, share a garden, a barn etc. I'm just not sure how to go about it to protect myself and my would-be neighbors legal rights etc. I certainly don't want it to turn into some kind of nightmare on down the road for anyone. :)

Any suggestions?
More importantly it should not become a nightmare for you. :)
I am a newbie from Tennessee as well! Good to see some locals around!
Hello there fellow volunteersman, I would be interested in a situation like that. I am just now in the beginning stage of being a survivalist and am making my families evac plan and storing the essentials. I would be interested in hearing more of your ideas and plans. Hope to talk soon .
