Hi!

I'm Susan (userid: Heatherli) from Saskatoon and I'm just beginning to
get prepared for whatever is coming around the bend.

I'm hoping to network with other members here since, as far as I know,
there isn't an active preparedness group in Saskatoon. If anyone knows
of one, I'd be glad to hear about it.

I've been lurking for awhile and I've already found quite a bit of useful
information! Thank you! :)

Mornin' there Heather (Susan).

As far as I know, there aren't any prep-groups out that way. Have you considered creating your own MAG (Mutual Aid Group) with close friends and family? If you do, be quite careful when creating the MAG as it could break friendships if those who are not of like-mindedness take offense to what you are proposing.

May I ask what you see as the need for prepping?

NaeKid...the situation in the Middle East is a bit worrisome. More and more countries
are developing nuclear technology, terrorism is a reality in these times, and with how
strange the weather patterns have gotten, what used to be a typical winter storm
could get a lot worse.

I'm not particularly confident about our current government, nor am I very comfortable
with how our economic situation has been going and we've already had one pandemic, albeit a comparatively mild one.

DocWard, thanks for the welcome.

Hello, Susan, from a former and soon-to-be-again Saskatonian! Welcome to the forum :)
Well, if you're coming back here any time soon, bring your snow-boots. We just got more snow today....but at least it isn't as cold as a week ago. :)

Try to make the move in late Spring or Summer when you do come.
The fragrance of the sweetgrass just coming in is heavenly and it's best in the very early summer.
We do want you to be greeted with the best Saskatchewan has to offer. :)

Early sunner would be my choice. I want to be moving in as the UofS kids are moving out....we'll be renting for the first couple of years until we can build our house, and I have nightmares about trying to get a rental with 3 cats and 2 dogs :(

I hear ya there!!
I've got 3 dogs and several cats but we own our house.
You won't find many apartments at all that will allow so much as a gerbil
but if you're renting a house and your pets are fairly well trained,
chances are you'll be able to find something.
A good site to investigate this is Kijiji....have you heard of that site?
It's kind of like a Classifieds Ad site for everything from Art to Pets to Services, you name it...worth looking into to. :)

Dunno, but saskabound did move back to Saskatchewan (sp?) earlier this year. Not sure how far from you though.

You might try sending both of them a Private Message.
