I hope to both learn from and add knowledge to this forum. I like what I have seen here. I am a country boy from Oregon but have also lived in Washington, Idaho, and Alaska. I live in what I like to call the coastal rain forest but have a passion for the High desert areas. I also love to hike the high mountains and fish the lakes that I find up there. I also enjoy Deer and Elk hunting when I can afford it and can find the time. I have a black thumb and leave the gardening to my wife.
Welcome to the forum. Great group here, I have enjoyed my time here and hope you will to. If you like the high desert maybe I can show you around my area. I live about 30 min. north of Redmond.
Thank you for the invite. The area you live in is one of the places I had in mind when I made my post. We lived north of Madras in the early 90s and spent a lot of time exploring the Rimrocks, Caves, and Deep Canyons that are in your great backyard. Maybe we could plan a summer get together!
Thank you everyone for the great welcome! I think I will be very comfortable here.

Summer get together sounds good, maybe even show ya my Huckle Berry picken spots up on Mt Hood, or hike Smith Rocks or ...........I'll PM you and we can take it from there.

That sounds great! If you made it over our way mid-summer we can take you wild strawberry picking on the top of a coastal mountain. We could also share fantastic Blackberry and Salmon-berry picking. From the Strawberry fields you can see the ocean and about 15 miles of coastline. We spent a week hiking, camping and fishing the Beaver Lake area of Mount Hood a few years ago and had a great time, but that is the only time we have been up there. (other than driving over it.) We would enjoy being shown around your stomping grounds. PM me any time.
