Halloween bargain preps

I went shopping yesterday and stocked up on some things that were 50-75% off to build my supply. I purchased some things that don't typically belong in the "prep" category per se but are sure to come in handy. I picked up 4 of the thicker tablecloth covers for 90 cents each. These serve as great drop cloths for painting or used under a deer when it's hanging, which I could've used it last week. They also serve as a waterproof cover for anything outside you want to stay dry short term. These are much cheaper than a typical drop cloth or tarp. I also got some cheap candy to give in Christmas baskets as none of the candy had halloween pictures or colors on it.....just regular bags of candy in the clearance bin. I also stock some of it in my "comfort" goodies box......darn you Almond Joy!! I picked up some clearance hunting flashlights for $1.50 at tractor supply.....nice ones that should last a long time. There were also some glow stix for cheaper than you can get at the dollar store. I also saw some cheap halloween solar lights but I'm all set there. My DH chuckles at me.....says he can't wait until halloween is over so he can get some candy as he knows I won't pay full price for it and I don't typically buy it anyways. He got a bag of milk duds.....he's happy. He says he can eat them out in the deer blind without scaring away the deer.

I like to find alternate uses for things that most people don't see. I'd love to hear how you all save money doing this. What items do you substitute for unintended uses that saves you money?
