What a nasty day this going to be, snow, sleet and freezing rain.:gaah: Happy Groundhog day I think I will sit by the fire with a good book.
Walked out at 4:30 this morning and could not stand up, rails, steps, walks and ground covered in layer of ice. Dang dangerous out there.
So far a little rain and just plain cold:gaah: I cant wait for some heat! Im not thrilled with cold or for that mater cold and rain!!!
I must say I do not like ... FREEZING RAIN :gaah::gaah: Nasty stuff ...:soapboxrant: Sounds like a fun few days ... (left eye starting to twich ... ) THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BLACKSBURG HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON. * SNOW WILL BEGIN EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. THE SNOW WILL CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN DURING THE DAY BEFORE CHANGING BACK TO SNOW LATE FRIDAY NIGHT
Heavy wet snow - about 4 inches ... so far. Trees and power lines are covered (never good). The scanner is going nuts cars over the hill, in the ditch and so on. NOAA radio still calling for it change over to freezing rain for a few hours then back to more snow. :gaah:
Just started raining here, boy do we need it, sorry guys. Sure hope the rest of you will be ok with the snow and ice.
We're due for about a foot, according to the local news. It's been snowing hard since about 4:00PM with no sign of letting up.
Ouch The weather outside is frightful:gaahsnow turned to sleet turned to rain turned to sleet turned to snow) but the log fire is so delightful, along with knowing I'll be ok if the lights go out.
Sounds about what we had ... and we also will alright till the power comes back on - Monday, they say ... MAN THAT'S A LOT OF SNOW!!! How much UncleJoe????
I'm viewing the Weather Channel and getting a kick watching a segment of how lots of panic is sweeping the food stores right now. A store employee was saying it was a madhouse. Really.... it's just a day of bad weather and the herd is rushing to get staples like its hitting the fan Armageddon style. This is a perfect example of how people react to the slightest of discomfort. I've got 14" on my back deck and it's not even phasing me and I don't think I'll have to crack open any #10 cans of my Mountain House stash.
