This took place in Sweden but it could be headed to a school near you. This is even scary to this old agnostic.

Christian Preschoolers Banned from Saying ‘Amen’, Talking About the Bible

    by VIRGINIA HALE26 Jun 20170

Children at a Christian preschool in Sweden are no longer allowed to say grace at mealtimes, “Amen”, or talk about the Bible, after a ruling by the Umeå municipality.

Visiting the preschool for an inspection, supervisors from the district said the activities run contrary to the Education Act, which forbids educational content during school time from containing confessional elements, and states that children at must always have the choice of whether or not to participate.

The municipality said it felt that children at the Salvation Army-run kindergarten were not given enough of an opportunity to opt out of saying grace at mealtimes.

“The Education Act can be interpreted in different ways,” said the preschool’s manager Britt Marie Mårtensson. She told STV she did not think grace at kindergarten would come under the umbrella of “education”.

“As a confessional activity, we knew we could no longer have prayer time while children are at their desks where they learn, so we thought we would add grace as a nice feature during mealtimes,” she said.

“We interpreted the law differently from the municipality,” Ms. Mårtensson added, telling the Swedish broadcaster that children at the preschool now sing a rhyme which gives thanks to the sun and rain at mealtimes, instead of saying grace.

“It’s sad because grace is a tradition, but the rhyme is also nice and it allows the kids to choose to whom and what they want to give thanks,” said the kindergarten head.

Staff at the kindergarten were also prohibited from holding any more “Bible Snacktimes”, an activity in which children and teachers discussed the contents of the Bible.

Preschools strategy planner at Umeå Municipality Pian Rosell explained whilst confessional elements are permitted at religious kindergartens and schools, they must not play any part in educational activities, admitting that lines are much more blurred at a preschool level.

“It isn’t as hard to distinguish between activities which are educational and ones which aren’t in elementary schools, because teaching happens in class, whereas when it comes to kindergartens it can be difficult to tell,” she said.

And in the U.S., teaching Islam is considered mandatory? What is wrong with this picture!!?? WTF????

Excerpt: "An outer suburb of Atlanta is the latest locale in America where some parents are expressing alarm because their middle school-aged children are learning about Islam but, the parents say, the school is pointedly ignoring Christianity.
Ryan Breece, a Christian father of three who has a sixth-grade daughter at Youth Middle School in Loganville, Ga., told local Fox affiliate WAGA-TV his daughter recently came home with a social studies assignment all about the core teachings of Islam. In Youth Middle School’s defense they are teaching a common core mandated curriculum given to them by the state,” the Facebook group’s description states. “However, to change the situation we must start somewhere.” A Walton County school district representative said that Breece is one of only two local parents to complain to the administration about the curriculum. Earlier this month, parents in a Nashville suburb expressed similar alarm because their middle school children are learning about Islam in a world history class but, they say, the course material pointedly ignores Christianity."

Course has 7th-graders memorizing Koran verses, praying to Allah. The course mandates that seventh-graders learn the tenets of Islam, study the important figures of the faith, wear a robe, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own jihad. Adding to this apparent hypocrisy, reports ANS, students must memorize many verses in the Koran, are taught to pray “in the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful” and are instructed to chant, “Praise to Allah, Lord of Creation.”
“We could never teach Christianity like this,” one outraged parent told ANS.

Elizabeth Christina Lemings, a teacher in the Byron, Calif., Union School District, was unaware of the course until her seventh-grade son brought home the handouts. Obtained by ANS, the handouts include a history of Islam and the life of Mohammad, its founder. There are 25 Islamic terms that must be memorized, six Islamic (Arabic) phrases, 20 Islamic proverbs to learn along with the Five Pillars of Faith and 10 key Islamic prophets and disciples to be studied. “We can’t even mention the name of Jesus in the public schools,” Lemings laments, “but … they teach Islam as the true religion, and students are taught about Islam and how to pray to Allah. Can you imagine the barrage of lawsuits and problems we would have from the ACLU if Christianity were taught in the public schools, and if we tried to teach about the contributions of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the Apostle Paul? But when it comes to furthering the Islamic religion in the public schools, there is not one word from the ACLU, People for the American Way or anybody else. This is hypocrisy.”
ANS reports that students are to pretend that they are Muslims, wear Muslim clothing to school, stage their own jihad via a dice game and pick out a Muslim name (to replace their own) from a list of 30.

Islam isn't a religion, so it can be taught in the indoctrination centers.
Christianity is a religion so thereby it shall not be taught in the indoctrination centers.

If a school is religious based whats the problem? That said other than teaching that religion exist and a little about them i believe religion has no place in the school system. You wouldn't want to be my kids teacher if i caught you trying to forcing your religious or political views!

Saying grace before eating is not just a tradition to some, it's a mandate from God. But they don't have religious freedom in their country anyway.

Sweden is the California of Scandinavia. Their leaders aren't smart enough to see the forest through the trees. They reject anything that would actually offer their people a future and take away anything from their youth that might allow them to develop hope. The further a nation gets from God the more the put their faith in humanity. A proposition that has never succeeded.

Here is a interesting concept. If Islam is a religion, then it cannot be mentioned in public schools (like Christianity). If it is not a religion, then it is an ideology and is not protected by freedom of religion. So to all of the Liberal which is it?

Waiting for the Liberals to explain this to me, waiting, waiting, getting much older here.

Ummmmm, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.....the Liberals can't even explain their own "beliefs" in any rational manner. What makes you think they could ever explain the difference between a "religion," and an "ideology?"

LazyL is correct, however, "Islam" is not a "religion," is is an entire cultural ideology, and "religion" is just one small part of it, even though it is the "part" they use to disguise the rest.

World leaders are behind this and Americans allow it. While we fight against each other the enemy is taking over. Much can be or could have been done peacefully to take back our nation. Now it is probably too late.

All our youth will be slaves to the advancing dictatorship that is being set up.

I think it is spiritual because there is no way so many people with so much knowledge and so much to lose could ever be this weak and foolish unless a supernatural power is controlling their minds.

Good luck with that. You can't stop a preschooler from talking about anything. In fact just give it a try sometime. tell little Bobby not to talk about his Peneus and see what his first topic of conversation is ! :)
