Funny what harmful products the FDA allows and doesn't allow! Sigh...

They call it a food additive?!?

We still use plastic containers to store food in the fridge. After reading this article I may be trying to turn over to all glass sooner than I was planning. When I take food that needs reheated to work for lunch I use a Pyrex container. I think it's 4 cups but they sell them in a variety of shapes and sizes. In the attached pic, note the pencil, which is there as a size reference.

When we were in our pre birth classes when DW was pregnant they told us about different kinds of plastics and one thing they said was plastics with a soft texture and milky color (not brittle and clear like polycarbonate) were far better than anything else. I forget the names of the plastics, this is going back to one lecture over 3 years ago, but I do remember, and we do abide by, the milky guideline when we get plastic water bottles or whatnot.

As far as my pyrex dish goes, I love it. It takes longer to reheat food, but not by much.
