Hi Harley! I don't know if you've seen it yet, but I posted a new fiction story yesterday! Wouldn't want you to miss it! I hope you enjoy reading it!

I just wanted to say again that I am sorry you had to give up your motorcycle. Just remember you only gave up the 'bike', it doesn't change who you are, just your mode of transportation. My Husband, son and daughter love to dirt ride, and 2 of my sisters love to street ride (one has her license the other prefers the back of the bike). I personally prefer a truck :)

:cool:do like what you have said about the majority of people, most of us are not in the position of alot of money, a collective of people working together is a very good ideal indeed. plus you have a collective of people to help with the work and framing that needs to be done.every person might have a different ability that someone might not have, or just having extra hands help.

By the way, a Sprint missile accelerates at over 200 gravities. A super-fast interceptor. **** Hercules missiles are great at land strikes, and taking out bombers and other missiles at high altitudes using their missile-tracking-radar and target-tracking-radar installations.

You might want to mention the fact that a lot of shelters are being built right now, and that the government seems to be setting these up for the bureaucrats... just in case something happens. Go ahead and work in a lot of the things we have been reading on this site; about the run on long-shelf-life butter that the government bought in such huge quantities that a whole year's output was unavailable to the consumer. That kind of stuff. It might also be nice to have the preppers NOT have this huge "farm" that they put together, which costs lots more money than you or I have. Maybe just a bunch of preppers with their modest homesites joining together as a cooperative, each contributing a little of their excess to help others. Either way... HAVE FUN WITH IT!!

Most of the stories I have read turn it into an all-out worldwide nuclear war. With the missiles I worked on (**** Hercules), we had two types of missiles: high explosive and nuclear. Each of them could be fitted with either an arm plug that would make the missile either surface-to-air (to take out other missiles or planes) or surface-to-surface (to take out land-based installations). I think your story might work well with our missiles taking out most of the incoming missiles (Sprint missiles were designed to do this very thing on a moment's notice), yet having some come through. There would definitely be EMP effects from the missiles destroying each other, and some fallout, but the most fallout would come from the missiles that got through.

It might be nice to have a crippled society, since most of the government would survive in shelters, but the preppers would bear the brunt of bringing stability to the country in the short run.

I'm starting to write the third story now, and need some "nuke" help! I have laid out the beginning of the story, as far as what Walter and Sue and the family are doing, getting ready to get in the shelter. But now I'm trying to decide how major the missiles/nuking/war should be.
I don't know whether to have it be a limited strike with a crippled but not devastated society, or full-out worldwide nuclear war.
Do you have a feel for which would work best, based on the way I wrote the first two stories?
Where I go from the beginning of the story depends on how bad the strikes are going to be. I'd appreciate your input, and any help you can give me along the way.
    Thanks!
