Default M1A Scout scope

I am looking for a decent long eye relief scope that won't break the bank. I can see spending up to $200. Primary shooting between 100 and 300 yards with my M1A Scout.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

John

Default Scopes

Try
Discount Hunting Gear, Discount Hunting Boots, Discount Shoes, Discount Ammunition, Discount Ammo, Discount Boots, Military Surplus, Outdoor Gear At the Sportsman's Guide

These folks hae really good prices. There ammo deals are pretty good too, use that cash now while it still holds value. What kind of mount do you have on your rifle?

When you say Long Eye Relief, are you looking for a scout-style scope that mounts forward of the breech? Or simply a scope with LER?

$200 is a bit cheap. The only manufacturers that come to mind are Burris and Nikon. The Burris Fullfield II is a great deal, I can't kill them on my FALs and .308 bolt guns (including a 6.5lb sporter).

I absolutely will not buy Bushnell, Tasco, Barska, Simmons, NcStar, etc. They're crap. You get what you pay for.

If you want a scout-style scope, and are willing to wait for the right deal, you may find a Leupold or Burris LER for that money.

Yes I am refering to a scout style scope that mounts ahead of the breech. I have looked at some of the cheaper stuff that you mentioned and I am saving right now for a higher quality scope. I appreciate your response.

How do you keep the sight from hitting you in the eye when the gun kicks up?

definitely not an issue with the scout scope... it is mounted forward of the breech,so far away from you...

If you are getting hit with a regularly mounted scope... I suggest relaxing a bit.... maintain a solid cheek weld with your stock and relax the rest of your body as you shoot. As you fire, the recoil should rock you and the rifle as a unit, not the rifle without you...
