Which types of firearms do you own?

Do you have one that is your favorite?

Is your favorite one the same as your bug out gun?

I have rifles, shot guns and hand guns, all in both black powder and modern cartridge. I enjoy shooting black powder more the modern. I shoot my 54 cal Hawkins the most. My favorite is a 5th generation Burnside, I have never shot it but it looks nice in the gun cabinet. It is the type my great great grandfathers unit was issued in the Civil War. I also hunt with my grand fathers 1953 J.C. Higgans 12 guage. I am quite proficiant with it but get a ribbing from out in the field about using an old pickle barrel. When my wife and I go out to the big city, I carry a North American Arms 22 long 5 shot in my pocket. It is so small you can't detect it. I don't have a favorite bug out gun yet. I can see a use for my 9mm pistol along with a shot gun and a rifle. I started the flintlock thread because I believe everyone should have one. They are inexpensive and don't get called in when you buy one. When the government takes everything away you will still have that. You can cast your own lead, napp your own flint and make your own black powder.

I only have one gun so I'd have to say it's my default for all categories. It's a Remington 870 14" Police Magnum. Today I went to the range to shop a little and I found something really awesome.

I really like buying this Swiss surplus ammo. I love that it comes in a metal ammo box. I'm so used to buying ammo in cardboard boxes. I find this so much cooler. After I shoot it all off I'll still have the box to use.

It's a box of Swiss army surplus 16 pellet 2 3/4" buckshot in a Swiss magnum loading. They were sold out weeks ago but after Beretta day they didn't use up as much ammo as they thought they would. So this box ended up back on the shelf tucked away in a corner.

I shot some of this on Beretta day through some nice Benelli semi auto shotguns. All I can say is crisp!

I like the little yellow clip that seals the freshness in.

Check the price. $89.00 Canadian is about $76.00 American. The case holds 180 shells so that's $0.39 American per shell for genuine Swiss quality. I don't know if that would be a good deal in the U.S. since I don't know what you guys pay for shells but up here it's a bargain.

I'm going to hit up a few more local shops and see if they have some left. I hope you guys are doing well with your ammo shopping.

Peace.

Thanks for responding to the poll! ;-)

I had to check all the boxes. All of them.

I have four safes.

I own a lot of firearms.

I hunt, shoot, teach and reload firearms.

I figure why not put it on a forum? The Government already knows about me, I'm one of the first doors they'll knock on since I own full auto firearms.

My Favorite firearm? I have to pick one? Can't do it. I love my Ed Brown 1911, I love my old duty weapon, a SW 915 that I bought when I first got into LEO. It's an award winning pistol too! My SW 686 is fast becoming my favorite revolver, and all my Glocks are great little pistols. As for rifles, I have this thing for Savage M99's. I really like my Long Rifle, the wood is soooo beautiful on that thing. My M70 Featherweight is another favorite. So is my shorty AR.

My favorite is which ever one I have in my hand at the time!

Doc - I figured you'd have quite a few. I have to say I like the Glocks too. Also love the 1911's. I still have not tried a revolver yet. I figured you'd say black rifle for your favorite for sure.

You've got a full auto? Nice. Those are all prohibited up here and have to be converted to semi auto just so you can own it. You can't even take it to the range and shoot it. Just put it up on display and that's it.

I'm looking forward to picking up a new handgun soon.

It seems the forum rules have loosened up a bit.
